🏆 Wrap up Wednesday! 🏆 Some further achieve 🏆 Wrap up Wednesday! 🏆 Some further achievements from our members over the weekend: Camille and Will took part in @ealinghalfmarathon on Sunday. The atmosphere was great and the crowds en route really helped with motivation in the final few kilometres! Further afield, @niloufarrezaei_ and @ellenellen13 completed their first marathons on Sunday. They were in very different locations (Berlin and Morecambe respectively) but both had a similar experience of it feeling like the race was never going to end... Super sub-4 times for both though, so brilliant debuts! 🏆 Trophy Tuesday 🏆 To round off a superb S 🏆 Trophy Tuesday 🏆 To round off a superb September, let's celebrate another amazing weekend of WTC achievements! Joe and David both competed at @hever_castle @castleraceseries and coped very well with the last minute change in format (the swim was replaced by a second run because of high rainfall). Joe came 2nd at the Sprint Plus on Saturday, and David had a great race at the Olympic on Sunday, despite battling a running injury. A BIG round of applause to @kayheenan who competed A BIG round of applause to @kayheenan who competed in the @ironmantri World Championships in Nice on Sunday! 🏆 Kay qualified for the Worlds after an excellent performance at Ironman Barcelona last year and has been training hard for Nice, despite a troublesome knee injury. 🏊🏻🚴‍♀️🏃‍♀️ Kay said: "What a day!! Really enjoyed the swim & bike, and felt much stronger in both disciplines than last year. The bike course in particular was epic and I loved descending the switchbacks on closed roads. The run course was always going to be tricky as I’m still recovering from a knee injury, so the focus was very much on not overdoing it. I stuck to my word walk/running most of it whilst soaking in the atmosphere and cheering on other athletes!" In typical Kay spirit, you were spreading joy all the way to the finish line - which even the commentator picked up on (swipe to the videos at the end and put sound ON!). ✨ Kay, we're in AWE - well done! 🥹 ❤️🩶🖤 @willesdentriclub #willesdentri #swimbikerun #swimbikefun #triathlon #ironman #ironwoman #ironmanworldchamps #ironmannice
🎖️ More amazing achievements from last weeken 🎖️ More amazing achievements from last weekend! 🎖️ ➡️ Leo, Abi, Rich, Anja and Ellen took part in the @vitalitylondon10k - a great run starting in Green Park and winding through the car free streets of London before finishing on the Mall. Some huge PBs were gained - congrats! 🎊 ➡️ David and his family did the @triathlon.granville Olympic Triathlon on Sunday. 🏆 ➡️ We of course had our very own @willesdentriclub Triathlon on Sunday! 🎉 What a wonderful weekend for WTC! 🎉 We ha 🎉 What a wonderful weekend for WTC! 🎉 We had so many racers doing amazing things it's hard to know where to start! ➡️ @descrinion and Raphael smashed the @dorneytriathlon on Sunday. It was Raphael's first standard distance triathlon and he did fantastically well in wet weather conditions! Des also had an excellent race, coming 1st in his age group and 9th overall! Huge well done to you both! 🥇 ➡️ Lucy took part in @grittyrascalsswimrun in Coniston with teammate Emilie. If you've not heard of swim run before, it's a slightly mad but very fun sport that involves running to a body of water, swimming through that body of water (normally with your running shoes still on), running to the next one, and repeating multiple times! Lucy and Emilie ran a total of 11.5 miles and swam 3km across 3 different lakes. 🏆 Trophy Tuesday 🏆 Congrats to @anjarpetter 🏆 Trophy Tuesday 🏆 Congrats to @anjarpettersen who competed in the @eventsatw Grafham Olympic-distance Triathlon on Sunday. Anja said: It was the first time I had to swim in colder water (15.8°), and it was choppy! 10° on land at the time too, wasn't happy. With the Australian exit it's a miracle I actually went in for the second lap and didn't just give up 😂 Took about 12km before the bike didn't feel cold, stiff, and horrible, but after that it was gorgeous country lanes, sunshine, and life suddenly felt much better! By the time I got back for the run I was nice and warm, and probably took it a lil too easy, but I had a good time ☺️ very well organised race and although it was slower than I hoped for, I'm pleased I did it Huge well done, Anja - you smashed it! 🎉 #willesdentriclub #swimbikerun #swimbikefun #olympicdistance #triclub #sundayracing #olympictri #grafhamtriathlon #grafhamwater #grafham

While the pros are off racing at the Olympics, it' While the pros are off racing at the Olympics, it's also been an absolutely chocca couple of weeks for our WTC pals.  First up, we have @marionswimsacross and @trilinsey who completed the Dunwich Dynamo on 20/21 July. For those of you who haven't heard of the DD, it's an annual night-time ride from London to the east coast. Pubs and shops along the route open up specially for cyclists, and riders aim to arrive at Dunwich beach for a lovely sunrise dip in the sea.  Marion and Linsey (and their pal Paul) made it to the beach by about 4am, and then, as they'd clearly not cycled far enough already, they carried onto Norwich to catch the train home. Last but by no means least, huge congrats to @kayh Last but by no means least, huge congrats to @kayheenan who last Saturday finished the @pancelticraceseries - a multi-day ultra cycling event of a massive 1000 miles. 😱 The event started around 7:30pm on Saturday 6 July with an overnight TT around the Isle of Man, followed by a morning ferry to the mainland, a few days cycling through the Lake District and Scottish Highlands, before finishing in Inverness a week later. ⛰️🚵‍♀️ Kay was the first female to finish and was 9th overall! 🏅🥂 What an achievement - we can't wait to see what you do next! #willesdentriclub #pancelticrace #ultracycling

Theo said "it was a hard mass start with over 1400 people for the swim in 16C cold water! Nice bike ride, a bit hilly, and got drenched again on the run. Finally, a big hurrah for all our members who took Finally, a big hurrah for all our members who took part in Cholmondeley @castleraceseries this weekend 🏰 Not only do we LOVE these events, but we also came away with some pretty huge results: 🥇Des took 1st place in his category for the Sprint Triathlon “Got a nice swim draft so was fresh getting out on the bike. Tough and long bike. Caught about 4 on the run to make 4th overall and 1st place over 40” 🥈Christine finished 2nd in her category for the Sprint Duathlon What a power couple 💪 Then in the mixed relay: 🥈Willesden Warthogs finished 4th overall and 2nd in their category, earning them a British champs podium position (!!) 🚀 Willesden Weasels also did really well finishing 17th in a field of 40 teams And to top off the celebrations - this event was Camille’s first ever triathlon 🎉 Stellar weekend team! #medalmonday🏅 #castleraceseries #triathlon #mixedrelay #duathlon #trilife #tri #triclub #swimbikerun #willesdentriclub
